FOR THE CONVERSION TO REGENERATIVE FARMING

Here is an overview of the various tools that are very useful in the redesign of one´s farm. After the explanation of each tool or thematic/approach we advise outside ressources where you can learn more. Also you will find many interesting books, articles and insights in our library.

Water Management

Water is Life. Thus the design starts with the water management.
Regenerative hydrological design integrates strategies for the efficient and coherent control of the surface runoff.
It is by design that we create landscapes and farms capable of rehydration by infiltrating water, storing it in soils thus building the organic matter, while at the same time fighting erosion.

Agroforestry

By implementing agroforestry systems, it is our goal to improve the farms´ production by optimizing environmental resources.
We seek to diversify the production of the land while restoring soil fertility.
Perennial agriculture built around tree crops not only guarantees the quality and quantity of water available in the soils, but improves biodiversity levels and regenerates the ecological network.
Trees and soil store more carbon and thus fight against climate change.

Soil Fertility

There is no permanence without rich and healthy soils.
Through regenerative farming we seek to increase soil fertility by restoring its natural biome and dynamics.
Our approach consist of 4 basic concepts:
Minimizing soils disturbance, Maximizing crop diversity and maintaining living roots all year round, Adding organic matter and biology to the soil, Keeping the ground covered at all times.

By applying these concepts we strengthen the conditions in the soil which thus provide the plants with all of their needs while strengthening its resilience to diseases.

Holistic Management

Intensive and extensive grazing as well as deforestation are the main cause of desertification today worldwide.
Allan Savory's "Holistic management" approach seeks to reverse the trend, and it is known to be the best grazing management practice today.
The idea is simple: integrate livestock in controlled grazing operations inside agroforestry systems, where all the elements benefit from each other: Water, trees, grasses, grazers, soil.

Farm-Land Planning

Here is where Permaculture and Keyline Design come into play.
The key is to create symbiotic systems in which all elements are designed to interconnect and inter-relate.
Associating ethics, design principles & science, we seek ecosystem integrity restoration through a well designed agricultural model.
A whole system design approach greatly increases the productivity and resilience of farms as well as the overall ecological impact.
Design is crucial to any farm.

Education

Regenerative ecology and education is at the core of our project as a tool for social transformation.
Our mission through education is to help farmers, and thus consumers to cultivate healthy relationships with nature, the community and themselves, propelled by emotions and values that motivate them to do things differently by working for the common good.
Our pedagogic approach will inform farmers in the know-how's, the functioning and the management of the systems we develop together.
