Peliti comes to Laconia!

🌱 Από τον σπόρο στο σπόρο - το Πελίτι έρχεται στη Λακωνία!
Τι σημαίνει να κρατάμε ζωντανές τις παραδοσιακές ποικιλίες; Πώς διατηρούνται οι σπόροι και πώς μπορούμε να τους μοιραζόμαστε και να τους ανταλλάσσουμε στην κοινότητά μας;

And how was it??

🌱 “The seeds were planted, memories awakened.”

Over three days, we gathered in Karyes, Monemvasia and Gytheio with Panagiotis Sainatoudis from Peliti and musicians Thanasis Kleopas and Dimitris Chiotis to celebrate traditional seeds, their stories and their importance for our communities.

As Panagiotis writes in his reflection on the gatherings in Laconia, “people live in the same place without knowing one another, and these gatherings gave them the opportunity to meet.”

And indeed, that was one of the most beautiful things to emerge. People from across the region came together to exchange seeds, knowledge and stories, renew old friendships and build new connections. From these gatherings, a wider group of people from across Laconia began to take shape, sharing a desire to continue the exchange and organise collective activities.

This is also the vision of ΛΩ – Laconia Initiative, to create opportunities for people to meet, discover what connects them and work together towards more resilient communities. 🔗 www.thelos.gr

Because resilience is not only about land, food and seeds. It also grows through relationships built on trust, mutual support and our ability to act together.

A heartfelt thank you to Panagiotis, Thanasis and Dimitris, and to everyone who joined us and contributed to these gatherings.

🌾 We look forward to meeting again next year! Until then, let’s save our seeds, grow them and get ready to share them once more.

If you would like to become part of this community and the activities ahead, get in touch. The community keeps growing.
