RAW - One day events on regenerative agriculture with EIT food

October 2024 was filled with funded one day intro events in seven different locations all over Greece in the framework of the EIT Food program RAW!
Each training wass focused on regenerative agriculture and the transition process from organic or conventional management practices to regenerative ones, including a farm visit with a local active farmer!
By participating, farmers also had access to join a Local Network granting access to regenerative educational material translated into Greek and communication channels with peer farmers.
This training series is organized by Regenerative Farming Greece, within the framework of RAW - Regenerative Agriculture Works! co-financed by EIT Food.
Main trainers Giuseppe Sannicandro and Chan Sac Balam are international experts, farmers themselves, with vast experience in regenerative practices specialized in the Mediterranean context.
Chan Sac Balam will lead the trainings in Athens, Kalatama and Kerkyra.
Giuseppe Sannicandro will lead the trainings in Sparta, Kyparissia, Chania and Korinthos.
CHAN SAC BALAM
Besides having extensive farming experience in various regenerative pilot farms in France and Mexico, he is also founder of PermaLab, an organization specialized in regenerative farming and hydrological design. Their work focuses on education, consultancy, land and farm planning, design and implementation of many regenerative agricultural operations in France and abroad.
He is also member of the administration board of ADAF (Association Dromoise de AgroForesterie) who supports farmers in their transition to regenerative agroforestry models, through consulting, training and education. His vast experience will help advance regenerative farming in Greece in the professional context.

GIUSEPPE SANNICANDRO
Giuseppe Sannicandro started working with regenerative farming more than 10 years ago in Italy, going deeper in agroforestry in South America. Since then he has designed the transition to regenerative farming for more than 70 farms all over Europe in various different climates. He has vast experience in the Mediterranean climate, working with farms in Italy, Portugal, Spain, Cyprus, Switzerland and Greece. He is co-founder of the organization Regen based in Apulia, Italy where he is running an educational regenerative farming center, while designing and consulting other farms.
These events are tailored to the Greek context. The main target audience are farmers wishing to convert their farming practices into regenerative ones. Other stakeholders of the agrifood sector are invited to join as an opportunity to get to know regional farmers and their most pressing challenges.
The courses will be taught in English, with live translation into Greek.

A delicious lunch will be offered to registered participants.
There is no fee to participate in any of the events. Participation costs are covered by EIT Food.
